Dress Code:

Women:

Dresses or skirts, which are preferred to slacks, must be of modest length. No shorts or sleeveless blouses. Head coverings - either a veil or a hat - are required, as per the directive of St. Paul (1 Cor. 11:5) and Canon Law (#1262).

Men:

Collared Shirts and clean trousers. Neckties and jackets are recommended for Sunday Mass. T-shirts, collarless shirts, shorts and earrings are NEVER appropriate for Mass. (No Catholic gentleman should have an earring or ANY type of "body piercing").

Reception of Holy Communion:

Holy Communion is distributed ONLY to Catholics in the state of Sanctifying Grace (free from mortal sin) and who have kept the required fast (see below).

Fasting Requirements:

Those receiving Holy Communion at a morning Mass should fast from midnight from all solid foods and liquids. Those unable to do so must fast from these things THREE HOURS before the reception of Holy Communion. Water, of course, does not break this fast. For evening Mass, the three hour fast is to be observed.

Sacrament of Penance before Receiving Holy Communion:

Those attending Mass at the Chapel for the first time should avail themselves of Confession before receiving Holy Communion. To aid in this, please use the "Examination of Conscience" available on the literature table.

Distribution of Propaganda:

The distribution of any propaganda - religious or otherwise - must not be done without the prior permission of the parish priest.

Donations:

Although there are no collections taken at Sunday Masses, we depend greatly upon your generosity to help us in our apostolate. Please place your donations in the "Offerings" basket near the Holy Water font. Checks should be made payable to "Mary Immaculate Chapel."
